Job description

As a Documaster Cloud Operations Engineer you will be tasked with maintaining the Documaster cloud, while ensuring the smooth deployment, upgrades and operation of all Documaster instances. The main focus of this role is on supporting the activities of various internal teams as well as addressing performance or availability challenges along the way. 

Key activities include: 

Cloud Operations 

You will utilize and improve the currently developed automation to deploy, configure and maintain the Documaster cloud services. You will also collaborate with internal teams to facilitate their work by managing the containers' lifecycle and addressing any issues with the infrastructure. 

You will perform product installations and upgrades, and occasionally communicate with IT specialists on the customer side to discuss the more complex setups. An essential part of the job will be to work closely with developers to gain insight into the requirements, installation steps, and runtime specifics of our software. This will allow you to investigate production issues reported by the Support team or by our monitoring system. 

Monitoring 

You will utilize the deployed monitoring solutions to detect, investigate and take measures to address any performance or availability issues on the Documaster infrastructure. 

System administration 

You will collaborate with the Infrastructure team in applying best security and administration practices, thus ensuring the smooth operation and integrity of all physical hosts, networking devices, containers, and virtual machines in our cloud. You will typically deal with Linux but there are also several Windows servers to take care of. 

Technologies you will encounter at Documaster include: 

• Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS 
• Windows Server 2019 
• Ansible 
• LXD 
• ZFS 
• KVM 
• Grafana 
• Icinga 2 

Working hours: 

Two work shifts within extended business hours: 

• 7 am - 16 pm  
• 11 am - 8 pm
